چکیده

Introduction Hyper-IgD with periodic fever syndrome (HIDS) is an autoinflammatory disease characterized by periodic episodes of fever, abdominal distress, joint pain, and skin rashes. IL-1 blockade was previously reported as effective in reducing the frequency of episodes and improving clinical symptoms.[,] We report the results of the study assessing the efficacy and safety of canakinumab, an anti-IL-1b human monoclonal antibody, in patients with active HIDS.

PReS-FINAL-2330: Canakinumab treatment in patients with HIDS

Introduction Hyper-IgD and periodic-fever syndrome (HIDS) is a recessively inherited-autoinflammatory condition caused by mevalonate-kinase mutations. It is characterized by early-onset (<1 year of age), 4-6 days-long acute inflammatory episodes that typically recur every 4-6 weeks. The main features during episodes include fever, lymphadenopathies, rash, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and...

These findings led to the tentative diagnosis of HIDS. Sequencing o...

Hyper-immunoglobulin A in the hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome.

The hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome (HIDS) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by recurrent febrile attacks with abdominal, articular, and skin manifestations. Apart from elevated immunoglobulin D (IgD) levels (>100 IU/ml), there are high IgA levels in the majority of cases. Mutations in the gene encoding mevalonate kinase constitute the molecular defect in HIDS. The cause of el...
